![]() ![]() While you feel such losses are discouraging, this is a survival game and loss and impermanence are the norm, not the exception. You have settings mods and even server choices and more that you can make to more customize the game to suit/match your play style and caliber. Always be mindful as you travel where your creatures are and also mindful of ther AI pathing (as some have different pathing than others) and other limitations(like what sort of terrain can they get hung up on etc).ĭeath and loss are learning experiences on Ark which is an experiential learning based game. That lets you pod them so you don't need to convoy creatures with chances of your getting them lost for the afore mentioned reasons.Ħ. When you get higher level, you can also craft cryopods once you get the resources etc. Even the mod awesome teleporters lets you craft and put a tracker on a dino that lets you teleport them to you.ĥ. In the early levels if you're not playing in single player or on an unofficial server using mods that help track tames, you'd have to rely on a transponder you can craft much later in the game and its less accurate in helping find dinos that the mod based trackers. ![]() If you have adjusted speed settings AND in the case of good swimmers like sarco, the oxygen stat(as its tied to swim speed) there is also a possibility of their being launched across the map due to speeds being too high. If one was on follow as well and for some reason you took them off follow they can run back to the spot a creature was killed to eat the corpse or if there was another creature involved in the encounter that wasn't.ģ. Dinos on aggressive or more specifically not on passive, can go after other creatures, especially when attacked. Dino's if they fall under the terrain can be purged due to anti meshing measures.Ģ. I was having fun with the game, but knowing that I can spend so much time taming and leveling up creatures just for them to magically disappears immediately discourages me from playing the game anymore.ġ. Now, my level 45 Sarco disappeared on me after turning my back for 5 seconds. does this just commonly happen? The first dino I ever tamed suddenly disappeared when I turned my back on it for like 5 seconds, no notification of it dying. I'm talking about it literally being there right next to me, I look in the other direction for less than a minute, I turn back, and there's not even a trace of them.Originally posted by JPlanas98:So. And I'm not even just talking about a case where I left one in neutral parked and couldn't find it. Ok, so what details would make 2 dinos disappear in seconds when they're right next to me? was sad and busy times and ended in the server being wiped. I have admined on a server that literally lost 80% if its tamed animals in this this way. There is a glitch that can rarely occur setting dino food cosumption below 1.0 that makes animals instantly die of starvation. Tecnical stuff that affects the game mechanics. What i meant by details is game settings, like taming, dino food drain, things like that. But how do you explain losing a level 34 bronto right next to the shore while it's following you? sure, maybe they're just really high up there, and maybe the magaladons are way down in the sea. ![]() I checked the logs, there is no record of a death, nor is there a body anywhere nearby. I named the dinos that have gone and explained that they were literally there one minute and literally gone the next. I thought I had provided more details than just the fact that they're disappearing.
